Welcome to Babies & Toddlers
A Warm Welcome to you!
We hope you and your child/ren will enjoy being with us here at Norton Methodist Church Toddlers.
We meet on Wednesday and Thursday from 9:15 to 11:15am during term time only. We do ask that you choose either the Wednesday or Thursday to attend and fill out the signing in sheet for the day of your choice. If we happen to be full, there is a waiting list and we would ask you to please fill this in.
The fee is £1 a session, payable on arrival, plus an extra 10p for each additional child or adult. This includes a drink and biscuit and which is available between 10 and 11 a.m. You only pay when you attend.
The premises are large, so we felt a break down of the activities on offer room by room would be helpful.
This is the main room activities are located in and is where you register your attendance and pay each session time you attend.
In the Hall, are the larger toys such as the Wendy House, wooden slide, painting, large wooden rocking horse and small rocking horse.
There are areas that have rugs for the cars and garage and the train set and carpeted area for babies. Dolls, soft toys and boxed toys, kitchen corner for the budding chef, bikes and push and ride toys are also located in this room.
Canteen and Coffee Lounge
The Coffee lounge is the carpeted area and is where you can have your coffee/tea and read a story to your child from a selection of books.
The Canteen has a hatch to the kitchen where you are free to have a coffee/tea, buiscuit and squash for the children from 10-11am. This is also where you may park your buggy or pram.
Wesley Room or The Quiet Room
This room isn’t really quiet all the time! Activities in this room are: playdough, puzzles, craft table, tabletop duplo blocks, mini slide and a baby area.
Due to lack of space available in this room, toy prams, buggies, bikes and other push and ride toys are not allowed. We encourage children to park these toys outside of the room.
About 11:05 or so, this room is tidied and prepared for singing for about 11:15. Any help to prepare for singing time is very much appreciated.
During the year we run special activities and event for the Toddler Group.
We invite the toddlers and their parents/carers to explore the Christian themes of Harvest, Christmas and Easter through stories and singing in a mini service held in the Church Hall. This will take place instead of the normal singing time in the Quiet Room.
We give out reminders to all events that happen during the year so you will not miss out!
You can also check out our website as this will have information on upcoming events and if we are closed due to snow!
We do ask you to remember that Mums, Dads, Grandparents and other carers that you are responsible for your children at all times, but of course we do watch them and if you need temporary help at any time during the morning, especially if you have more than one child with you, then please ask.
We recommend that you keep your personal belongings with you at all times.
Have fun all of you and enjoy your time with us.
We have support available for parents who would like a chat or would like any information on the activities of Norton Methodist Church. Our Community Outreach Worker is available and also our Minister – Rev. Malcolm Peacock. Please ask the person at the table as you came in for details.
